NHS 111 is the number to call when you need medical help fast, but it is not a life-threatening emergency.
In life threatening emergencies such as chest pain and severe shortness of breath you should call 999.
- Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 kg/m² or more (or 37.5 kg/m² for people from minority ethnic family backgrounds)
- Have at least four of the following long-term conditions:
1. Type 2 diabetes
2. Hypertension (high blood pressure)
3. Dyslipidaemia
4. Established cardiovascular disease
5. Obstructive sleep apnoea
